Revised for Guin, AL GUIN Voters Beware! The NO Voters are out to protest against the Wet/Dry Vote set for June 22, 2010 in Guin, Alabama... Supporters of the YES VOTES stand up and be counted. Just make sure the citizens of Guin are being represented by local citizens who have duly and legally registered to vote and have only the voting area's 'good' at heart. It is my opinion that Only the voters of a given area should be allowed to speak about the upcoming Voters' Choice! When speakers are brought in from other areas, who can be sure of their motives? We can hope but we cannot know where they get their incentive! DID YOU KNOW... State Rep. Jimmy Martin, D-Clanton, sponsored legislation last year to lower the population requirement for cities and towns in wet and dry counties to schedule wet-dry votes. The law previously required a population of 7,000 before a vote could be set. Martin’s bill lowered it to 1,000. Gov. Bob Riley vetoed the measure, but the veto was overridden.
