Verla Mae Otts

Ms. Verla Mae Otts, age 88, of Guin, Alabama, passed away Thursday, January 28, 2010 at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama.

Visitation, 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Sunday, January 31, 2010 at the Otts Funeral Home in Sulligent, Alabama. Funeral service, 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 1, 2010 from the Otts Funeral Home Chapel with graveside services following at Webb Cemetery, Lamar County, AL. Active palbearers, Jimmy Miles, Jeremy Brown, Jason Lucas, Coy King, Don Knight and Dillion Atkins.

Ms. Otts was born April 2, 1921 in Marion County, Alabama to the late Lula Mae Johnson. She married to the late Felix Albert Otts. Ms. Otts was a charter member of the Beaverton Church of God. She loved going to church, babysitting and cooking.

She is survived by 4 sons, James Loyd Otts, Moline, IL., Elvis Otts, Moline, IL., Ricky Otts, Beaverton, AL., Ronnie Otts, Guin, AL.; 3 daughters, Doris Cannon, Guin, AL., Linda O'Mary, Guin, AL., Laura Mayfield, Guin, AL.; 30 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Lula Mae Johnson; husband, Felix Albert Otts; 2 daughters, Dorthy Faye Collins, Linda "Jeannie" Mitchell; 1 son, Roger Dale Otts; 1 sister, Nora Mertel Smith; and 1 granddaughter, Lisa Ann Collins.
